Entries Open Thurs 1st December @ 9amNews Data: 28 November 2011After an absence of 16 months, the popular Wombat 100 (formerly the Dirt Works VIC) is back to its preferred date taking place on the 22nd April 2012. Set amongst the fantastic trails of the Wombat State Forest, the event is staged from the magnificent Cammeray Waters at Woodend. The venue is only one hour's drive from central Melbourne and 40min from Tullamarine if you are travelling from interstate. If you haven't raced at the Wombat before, the course includes over 50% flowing single track (including the famous Wombat track), fast fire trail, pine forest single track and 4WD trails. This is one MTB event where you will not see any tarmac, guaranteed! The Wombat 100 is the only event in Victoria to form part of the popular Real Insurance XCM series - combining some of the biggest 100km events in Australia into a competitive marathon series. With rankings and some big prize money up for grabs, this is an opportunity for all the Victorians to build up some series points before heading over to NSW to race in the remaining XCM events. Our friends at Real Insurance are also offering riders an easy accommodation option at the Wombat 100 - you can book a two man tent for $10 in the Real Insurance race village. Entries for the Wombat 100 open on the 1st December 2011 @ 9am. Be part of the action, get your entry in now! |
