what is it::

From the creators of the popular Tough Bloke Challenge comes another running event, guaranteed to be the most fun you will have with your pants on!

The Mud Run is a cross country run with some natural and often muddy obstacles to challenge competitors. The course will traverse the beautiful native forests of the area and includes fire trails, grasslands, creek crossings, hills and much more. As the name suggest, numerous mudflats and bog-holes will be at the core of this event so don't bring that new set of runners, you might just lose them to the Mud Monster!

From race Director Gary Farebrother:

"With the Mud Run we've set out to create a cross country running event unlike anything else in Australia. Similar to the days when a number of triathletes got bored with the fixed format of their sport and turned to adventure racing for a fresh challenge - We see the running fraternity looking for a new challenge instead of your standard 5km or 10km fun run.
Let's face it, would you rather run through beautiful native forests set amongst one of the most picturesque valleys on the NSW Central Coast - or plug away on some bitumen road around your local neighborhood? And don't forget about the river crossings and mudflats, who doesn't like to get down and dirty once in while"

In true Max Adventure style, runners of all ages and abilities can participate in the mud run. Course options include a 10km full course and a 5km half course.

"Although this event will appeal heavily to cross country runners, it is truly an event for anyone. There are no time restrictions, you can run or even walk the entire course. We would like to encourage friends and families to race together and enjoy the experience. We are also setting up numerous vantage points for spectators to watch their runner negotiate a mud hole or obstacle. Remember to bring the camera along; the kids will enjoy seeing Dad with a face full of mud!"
