Max 24 Hour Solo AdventureARE YOU AUSTRALIA'S ULTIMATE
ADVENTURE RACER?

This year we introduce a new category into the 24 hour format - the MAX 24 SOLO! Following the same course as the team event, the MAX 24 SOLO is for individuals with support crew. Are you up for the ultimate challenge?

The MAX 24 HOUR races are designed for teams of two. A typical course will consist of 60-70km of mountain biking, 15-20km of trail running/trekking and 10-15km of kayaking. No support crews are necessary.

The MAX 24 HOUR SOLO will be for individuals and will consist of the same course as above, but a support crew will be required.

These events tend to involve a lot of natural obstacles whether it be rivers, lakes, hills, mountains, cliffs or caves. Be prepared to be surprised and pushed to your limits.

Kayaks:

For the MAX 24 HOUR Toyboy Voyager II sit-on-top two person kayaks, paddles and personal flotation devices (PFDs) are included in your entry. You can bring your own paddle and PFD if you prefer.

For the MAX 24 HOUR SOLO you will need to supply your own kayak, paddle and PFD.

Navigation:

You will need to be a competent navigator to enter this event as you will be travelling by day and night, along tracks and cross country. If you are not sure if you are up to it, drop us a line with your experience or do the race with an experienced instructor.

Max24 Mountain Bike LegThe Course

Teams and individuals must complete the course in the minimum amount of time by visiting each of the check points in turn by foot, bike or water. Team work and route selection are crucial in reducing the amount of time needed to finish the race.

The course is kept secret until the day of the race. At the race briefing you will be issued with your maps and race instructions. You will need to plot eight figure grid references to mark your course. The race instructions will tell you what order to collect the checkpoints in and what equipment you can use.

It is worth turning up early to give your team plenty of time for planning.
