Maximum Adventure

what is it

If you have done a couple of sprint races, rogaines or half Ironmans and are looking for the next challenge, then this is the event for you!

Just like the sprint races these events are designed to keep you on your toes. There will be up to 10 different legs to each race. This will ensure you are constantly challenged throughout the event and never bored, taking between 12 to 24 hours to complete.

Not quite ready to tackle 24 hours, then how about the 12 hour option. This will be on a shortened version of the 24 hour course, you only race during daylight hours, still with the same challenging aspects of the 24 hour event, taking between 6 to 12 hours to complete.

The Kathmandu 24 HOUR races are designed for teams of two. A typical course will consist of 60-70km of mountain biking, 15-30km of trail running/trekking and 10-15km of kayaking. No support crews are necessary.

The Kathmandu 12 HOUR races are designed for teams of two and will consist of a shortened version of the course above. No support crews are necessary.

These events tend to involve a lot of natural obstacles whether it be rivers, lakes, hills, mountains, cliffs or caves. Be prepared to be surprised and pushed to your limits.

Kayaks:

The Kathmandu 12 HOUR and Kathmandu 24 HOUR kayak legs will be completed using Toyboy Voyager II sit-on-top two person kayaks. Kayaks, paddles and personal flotation devices (PFDs) are included in your entry. You can bring your own paddle and PFD if you prefer.

Navigation:

You will need to be a competent navigator to enter this event as you will be travelling by day and night (24 HOUR course only), along tracks and cross country. If you are not sure if you are up to it, drop us a line with your experience.
