Tough Bloke Challenge - Time to Harden Up!
13th December 2008
In the summer of 2008, men and women will rise from their comfortable armchairs and flock to the outskirts of Sydney where a
challenge will determine the toughest of them all. Unlike any other endurance event in Australia, there will be no place for
designer shorts or a pair of flashy runners! You will rely solely on the guts and determination that lies deep within as you take
on a race that is likely to be the toughest thing you'll ever do. Welcome to Tough Bloke Challenge! It's time to harden up!
From the stables of Maximum Adventure comes an off road running event that combines the challenges of cross country running, man
made and natural obstacles, water crossings, mud and some unexpected surprises. The challenge is simple, clear the obstacles and
get around the course in as short a time as possible to be in the running for the coveted Tough Challenge Trophy!
"Running is the core discipline of the Tough Bloke Challenge but competitors should be prepared for anything .. and don't
expect to be clean when you come out on the other side" states race director, Gary Farebrother adding that
"the taste of mud and sweat will be familiar by the end of the day"
Located only 1.5hrs from Sydney, the course is set amongst the native bush land of the area and will cover a distance of approximately
10km. It is estimated that top competitors will clear the course in just over an hour with the back markers taking as long as two and
a half hours. The exact location of the course will be announced shortly on the event website.
Contrary to the name, the event is also open to females in the "Tough Chick" category and a range of age categories. Says
Farebrother, "men and women of all ages will enjoy this event, everyone likes to get down and dirty once in a while! It's
100% unadulterated fun, an opportunity to be a kid again."
Every particpant who completes the challlenge will receive a finishers certificate and an opportunity at unlimited bragging rights!
The Tough Bloke Challenge will take place on the 13th December 2008 with entries opening in early September. Entries must must be
completed online, for more information visit the Tough Bloke Challenge website at
