Race Results, Photos and Reports - Now Available!
The inaugural BMC Classic saw 768 riders flock to Woodend to see what the “new kid on the block” was all about. With some of the best single track in the state, riders were not disappointed with the quality of riding in the Wombat State Forest.
The cream of the crop was also there to fight it out in the elite category with riders such as Jason English, Shaun Lewis, Murray Spink, James Williamson and Josh Fleming rolling up to start line.
In the end it was Murray Spink who set the pace from the start and taking out the 100km event with a time of 4:24:03. He was closely followed by ACT rider Shaun Lewis who took second place in a time of 4:25:43. Peter Hatton was first over the line in the 50km event “choking the wombat” in a time 2:23:21.
