Entries are filling up fast! With just over 5 weeks until race day there are only 10 entries available for the 12 hour event and 10 entries availalble for the 24 Hour (unsupported option) event.

8th August 2008:

Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park Villas and Cabins have sold out. There are some Powered Sites available which are suitable for Caravans (since they are on a concrete slab). Remember, at Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park, Friday night camping is FREE for the 12Hour event and Friday and Saturday night camping is FREE for the 24Hour event and there is no need to book.

Other accomodation options can be found by calling the Lake Macquarie Visitor Centre on 1800 802 044 or visit the Lake Macquarie Visitor Centre Website. When searching make sure you select the location of "West Lake Macquarie". We are told there are accomodation options north to Toronto and south to Morriset, all within 15 minutes drive from the Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park.

5th August 2008:

Entries for the MAX12 Hour and MAX 24 Hour are now both at 60% full! With the recent anouncement of the MAX12 Hour, entries for this event have already caught up to the MAX 24Hour.

Race HQ and Accomodation Announced
Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park will host the start and finish of the 2008 Kathmandu MAX12 Hour and MAX24 Hour. Located on the untouched foreshore of beautiful Lake Macquarie, Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park has natural bushland and lake access on its doorstep, an ideal place to get away from it all!

There is no need to book your camping accomodation, but if you prefer to spend the weekend with a little more of the home comforts then Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park has some Villas, Cabins and Powered Sites available to book, there are a limited number of these available, so get in quick. Contact the Park directly to book one of these accomodation options.
Remember, Friday night camping is FREE for the 12Hour event and Friday and Saturday night camping is FREE for the 24Hour event.

26th June 2008:

Can't deal with a sleepless night or scared of the dark then race the MAX 12hour! The perfect step up from the Kathmandu Adventure Series.
Teams of two have up to 12 hours to complete a shorter version of the 24 Hour event, covering the same disciplines of trekking, mountain biking and kayaking.
The race will kick off at at 6am and finish by 6pm, all in daylight hours.

Friday night camping, kayaks, paddles, personal flotation device and end of race BBQ are included as part of your entry.

3rd June 2008:

A new supported team category has been added, incorporating teams of two, your own kayak and your own support crew, while racing the same course as the solos. Of course the classic category, which includes using our kayaks and the unsupported option is still available.
