22nd June 2009:

Royal National Park, NSW - Results

The Maximum Adventure Team had been studying the Metrological charts for months before this event in the hope that it would not be a hat-trick of wet courses. Alas the weather bureau delivered what was forecast, which can only be described as a flogging! The heavens opened 15 minutes before the start and pretty much didn't stop until after the event had finished. Even Audley Weir was flooded at 5pm!

The wet weather didn't put off everyone with over 340 brave soles lining up at the start. The wet conditions only added to the adventure!

myWorspace.com.au (brothers Ryan and Chad Armstrong) cleared the course in 2hrs 47 mins earning them a much deserved win after many previous podium positions. They were closely followed by Rank Outsiders (Kris Plain and Richard Plan) just over a minute behind.

FiveFingers/Injinji (Narelle Ash and Max Delacy) took first place in the mixed in 3hrs 27min. Narelle flying in from the Gold Coast especially for the event.

Couldn't we have played this on Wii (Mary Fien and Orla Murray) proved that there is no substitute for the real thing, winning the female category in 3hrs 56min closely followed by PB Fitness (Prue Bagnall and Deahne Tappin) only 44 seconds later.

Full results can be found here. Do you have an interesting story to tell about the event? Why not write a race report. The best report will receive a $50 voucher from our naming right sponsors Kathmandu. Send your reports to Todd.
